Local - Panorama Recipe
- Take the natural beauty of the John Herbert Vista contours, add 40 potted Australian native trees (including the "Flame Tree" - Brachychiton Acerifolium, "Wheel of Fire" - Senocarpus Sinuatus, and the well known Buckinghamia Rhodosaphera), and the blood, sweat and tears of Sherwood Lions.
- With the generous help and advice from Agronomist Morrie Arvier, plant the trees in carefully selected sites.
- Persuade mother nature to lend some good rains to the project.
- Follow up with weeding and more planting in following months until over 100 trees have been planted.
Sherwood followed this recipe diligently between 1979 and 1985, and were rewarded for their efforts, not only with an asset to the community and a fitting memorial to the late John Herbert, but the District 201Q5 Environment Award for 1982-1983 as well. (John Herbert was the State member for Sherwood between 1956 and 1978.)
